Vihtavuori proudly congratulates Team Vihtavuori’s Doug Koenig on an outstanding second-place finish at the 2025 Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Bianchi Cup – International Pistol Tournament, held May 20–23 at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Hallsville, Missouri. Koenig secured his podium position with a grand aggregate score of 1918-182X.
Celebrating over four decades of premier competition, the CMP Bianchi Cup remains one of the most prestigious events in action pistol shooting, drawing top-tier marksmen from around the world. The competition includes four challenging events: Practical, Barricade, Falling Plates, and Moving Target.
Koenig, who competes using Vihtavuori N320, delivered exceptional performances across all four events. His individual scores were:
- Practical – 480-43X
- Barricade – 480-47X
- Moving Target – 478-44X
- Falling Plates – 483-48X
His performance in the Falling Plate event was especially notable, winning the aggregate by a 3-point margin following a competitive shoot-off.
In the team event, Koenig joined forces with Mark Itzstein, Joey De Leon, and fellow Team Vihtavuori member Bruch Piatt. The squad took home the 4-Man Team Championship Title with a combined score of 1918-175X.
Koenig’s second-place finish at the 2025 CMP Bianchi Cup marks the 25th time since 1990 he has placed in the top two — with 20 first-place and five second-place finishes — a true testament to his legendary consistency and enduring excellence in competitive shooting.
