Sedalia, MO – Lapua is set to sponsor a side match during the 2020 GA Precision/Bushnell GAP Grind October 2-4th at the K&M Precision Rifle Training Shooting Complex in Finger, TN.

Lapua has teamed up with Vudoo Gun Works to sponsor a unique opportunity for competitive rimfire enthusiasts. Each contestant will have the opportunity to engage challenging, multi-range targets with a state of the art Vudoo Gun Works rifle paired with Lapua Center-X Ammunition.

Lapua Sponsoring ISRPA Junior Elite Smallbore Clinic

Sedalia, MO – Lapua, world-renowned for producing the finest cartridge cases, bullets, and ammunition, is pleased to announce their support of the Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association (ISRPA) Junior Elite Smallbore Rifle Clinic.

In its 3rd year, the Elite Rifle Clinic presented by ISRPA and The X-Count will take place July 29th through August 2nd at The X-Count in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  The clinic caters to high level junior athletes who wish to compete at the collegiate level.  Juniors will receive on-site coaching from collegiate level coaching staff, National Coach Development Staff (NCDS) and Gregg Rice, X-Count Head Coach. In addition to receiving advanced training instruction for 3-Position Smallbore, attendees will also be exposed to national sports psychologists, physical trainers and sport nutritionists.

Team Lapua Wins Berger Southwest Nationals, Sets Range Record

Mesa, AZ – For the third straight year, Team Lapua won the F-Open Grand Aggregate Team Award at the Berger Southwest Nationals (SWN) with a score of 2584-160X (out of a possible 2600).

Team Lapua achieved an additional win and established a new range record in the Palma Team Match with a score of 1791-113 (out of a possible 1800). Lapua team members are Pat Scully, Jay Christopherson, David Christian, and Jeremy Smith, with Bob Sebold and Erik Cortina as Team Captains.

Additionally, team members Jay Christopherson, Pat Scully and Tod Hendricks added individual accomplishments placing first, second and third respectively in the F-Open Grand Aggregate individual awards, adding an exclamation point to Lapua’s dominating results.

The Berger Southwest Nationals, hosted by the Desert Sharpshooters Rifle Club, took place February 5-9th at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, AZ with a sold-out roster of 400 competitors. The Southwest Nationals is the “must-attend” event for competitive long-range shooters around the world, featuring F-Open, FTR, and Sling disciplines. Competitors from over 9 different countries were in attendance. The Grand Aggregate is the total score from firing points of 600, 800, 900, and 1,000 yards.

Lapua East Rimfire Test Center Manager Announced

Capstone Precision Group, the importer and distributor of top quality Lapua and SK rimfire ammunition, proudly announces the appointment of Luke Johnson as manager of the new Rimfire Test Center housed at the Cardinal Shooting Range near Columbus, OH.

Johnson, a native of Marysville, PA, brings a long background of competitive shooting and hunting to Capstone. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. While pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree, Luke was a four year letterman for the University’s D1 Rifle Team. In addition to his 3P/Prone shooting pedigree, Luke is a High Master rifle silhouette competitor. Highlights of his competitive background include:

Philip Hemhill Wins NRA .22 Caliber Pistol Championship

Team Lapua member, Philip Hemphill, scored a 888-49X to bring home the 2019 NRA .22 Caliber Pistol Championship. Hemphill uses Lapua Center-X .22LR Rimfire ammunition, known for its uncompromising quality and dominating results in .22 caliber disciplines such as Smallbore, PRC Silhouette, new ELR and more.

The NRA National Pistol Championship, known as the “World Series of Shooting Sports,” took place July 7-12th at Camp Perry, Ohio. Since 1907 the nation’s finest marksmen and women come together at Camp Perry and shoot off in a variety of handgun competition formats and events.

“It’s an honor to be able to come out here and test my shooting skills in one of the longest-running pistol events in the nation. My whole team, Team Zero, shoots Lapua Center-X, because we know it will outperform all other .22 caliber competition ammo,” said Hemphill.

Along with receiving the Walker Trophy Plaque for winning the Championship, Hemphill also won the NRA Precision Pistol Championship – Police Division, and came in 3rd in the 22 Caliber Slow Fire Match with a score of 194-9X.

Team Lapua’s Jack Neary, along with USA teammates Harley Baker, Gary Bristow, and Jeff Graves won the 4-Man Team Gold Medal at the 2019 World Benchrest Championships held in Calgary, Canada this past week.

The World Benchrest Shooting Federation hosts the World Championships every two years in a different country. This year, competitors representing nearly 30 countries tested their skills at 100-yard and 200-yard distances over four days of shooting for individual and team results. Benchrest shooters are notorious for using state-of-the-art reloading equipment, a variety of new and innovative firearms, components and accessories.

All Team USA Gold Medalists use Lapua cartridge cases exclusively for their competitive shooting. Team Lapua Shooter Kent Reeve Wins Sinclair International Championship

Team Lapua member, Kent Reeve, scored a 2223.124 to secure first place at the Sinclair International Fullbore Championships. Reeve shot Berger 30 Cal 155.5 gr Fullbore projectiles, Vihtavuori N150 propellant and uses Lapua .308 Winchester brass exclusively.

The Sinclair International Fullbore Championship, presented by the North State Shooting Club took place May 18-22 at Camp Butner, NC.

Reeve stated, “This year at Sinclair we had very hot weather and tricky winds, which made for an exciting and challenging match. I knew my components were up to the task no matter the condition.”

Reeve will be competing this August in the NRA Mid-Range Rifle Championships at Camp Atterbury, IN.
